Escape the everyday

Activities to suit all ages and abilities

You can of course simply come to Willow Lakes and do nothing, or for the more active or even adventurous there are endless activities to suit all.

Fishing

Available to all our guests, our fantastic lakes are of special interest to the dedicated angler. Our lakes are well stocked with a variety of fish including roach, chub, rudd, tench and Carp up to 20lbs. Enjoy the immaculately maintained lakes, whilst enjoying the peace and tranquility of the surrounding countryside. As the fishing is set amongst pastoral land the access to the water is generally very good though care should be taken on some banks that are quite steep. Come and join us, and turn your relaxing holiday into a fishing holiday!

Walking

Tucked under the Lincolnshire Wolds, Willow Lakes is the perfectly destination to don those walking boots. Why not try the Silver Lincs Way walk that runs through Willow Lakes to the pretty Georgian market town of Louth and marvel at St James, which has the second tallest, and one of the finest steeples of any medieval parish church in Britain.

Cycling

At Willow Lakes, incredible cycling routes are in abundance whether you are on a road or mountain bike. Located on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds there are endless rolling hills and stunning scenery to enjoy, and plenty of pubs and eateries to stop and take a well earned break along the way.

Golfing

Willow Lakes is an ideal spot for a relaxing golf break. Our park sits in the heart of several golf courses that welcome visitors and all a short drive away including, but not limited to Waltham Windmill Golf Cub, Tetney Golf Club, Kenwick Park Golf Club, Grimsby Golf Club and Cleethorpes Golf Club.

Horse riding

Local to Willow Lakes are two equestrian centers (Caistor Equestrian Centre and Cottagers Plot Equestrian Centre at Laceby) which provide lessons to suit riders of all ages and abilities. Please be aware that you will need to book in advance to avoid disappointment.

Clays shooting

A country sport which simulates game shooting by using disc shaped targets which break when hit by pellets. We are pleased to recommend North Cotes Butts Shooting Club who welcome anyone interested in starting out in shooting as much as they do veteran shooters. Situated just 8 miles from Willow Lakes.

Beach Days

The Lincolnshire Coast boasts incredible sandy beaches for miles and there are 8 beautiful beaches less than an hour away from Willow Lakes. The closest and one of the most popular is Cleethorpes. With everything you can imagine in this traditional seaside town you won’t be disappointed, with four-and-a-half miles of golden sands, countless attractions and eateries, visitors are spoilt for choice in this popular beach resort.
Other popular family beach resorts providing fabulous sandy beaches and attractions for all ages include Chapel St Leonards, Ingoldmells (which boasts the Fantasy Island Theme Park) and of course the infamous Skegness.
If you are looking for something quieter and away from the hustle and bustle you should try some of Lincolnshire’s hidden beaches that most tourists don’t even know exist. These include Anderby Creek, Moggs Eye, Theddlethorpe Dunes in Saltfleetby and Sandilands. If you are into your sailing and watersports then Winthorpe beach is the one for you.

Wildlife & Birdwatching

With 44 acres of rolling countryside making up Willow Lakes, with its two lakes all bordered by 2 kilometres of mature hedgerows, we have an abundance of wildlife. From wherever you are staying on the park, it is possible to see kingfishers, finches, herons, sparrow-hawks, cormorants, kestrels, buzzards and moorhens in their natural environment. A wooded copse surrounds our bottom lake and along with our beetle banks and wild flower verges they provide the perfect environment for rabbits, foxes, and most excitingly muntjac deer, which is why we say “nature is closer than you think…”
